Heating upgrade at Colchester House

14 January 2020

Colchester House, our sheltered housing scheme for those over the age of 55, is due to get an upgrade for all heating systems in flats and communal areas.

We're upgrading the heating system so it meets the most recent energy guidelines. The new heaters will be more cost efficient with a guaranteed 27% saving on heating costs. Each heater has an easy-to-use built-in time programmer and room thermostat, so residents can keep each room at a comfortable temperature at all times.

We're planning to complete the works in the first two weeks of February. Disruption to tenants will be kept as minimal as possible, and we are offering the communal space as a respite area, with hot drinks facilities and a radio, to ensure residents can escape the disruption in their flat.

A member of Arches staff will also be available at Colchester House each morning and evening to ensure all residents have the opportunity to chat face-to-face if they wish.
