We are proud to announce that we have let our first home as part of the Homewards Sheffield Innovative Housing Project.
Arches Housing has committed to provide homes for families across the North East of Sheffield as part of the Homewards Sheffield project, supported by The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Work on the Homewards Sheffield Innovative Housing Project has been ongoing with partners including Sheffield City Council, to develop housing solutions for families. As part of this, Arches is focusing on providing homes for families experiencing homelessness who have been impacted by domestic abuse. Arches and Homewards have worked together to identify suitable properties and the necessary wraparound support for the new residents. Arches involvement in the project is being supported by Sheffield-based voluntary sector organisation SOAR, and IDAS, the Independent Domestic Abuse Service.
Homewards is a five-year project working across six locations in the UK, including Sheffield, and aims to demonstrate it is possible to make homelessness rare, brief, and unrepeated.
Each location is developing an Innovative Housing Project, which will test new ways to unlock homes at scale and sustain tenancies.
Head of Housing Operations for Arches Housing, Alison Caires said:
"We are delighted that this family was settled in their new home for Christmas. We are proud to be working in partnership with Homewards Sheffield, Sheffield City Council and our other partners to make a difference for families in incredibly difficult circumstances."
