“10 grandchildren and still finding time to help others”
Jane has been an Arches customer for well over 20 years now and has loved every minute of it. Before becoming an Arches customer, she had previously lived in properties managed by the local Council and Northern Counties.
Due to a change in family circumstances, Jane moved into an Arches property and hasn’t looked back. Since moving in back in 2005, she can now boast to having ten grandchildren to help look after. Jane is also a very busy person, currently working as a support worker for vulnerable adults living in supported housing.
“I’m a support worker, it’s very rewarding and I love it. Also having ten grandchildren keeps me very busy, they are always close by, helping where needed around the house. I fit in seeing the grandchildren around my work – it works for me. I also love walking and travelling in my spare time.”
When asked about her 20+ years living in an Arches property, Jane is nothing but complimentary of the organisation and the staff that work on the front line.
“I have never, ever, had any issues with Arches, when I’ve reported repairs, they’ve always been completed and resolved really quickly. I’m very lucky. I’ve introduced a couple of friends to Arches as well – I tell them how responsive they are, and that I’ve always had good experiences”
She is also very complimentary of the area in which she lives and how the community spirit shines through.
“I really love the area I live in - Heeley, it’s only a 10 minute walk into town and I have one daughter who lives close by, and my other daughter isn’t too far away either. The local community is lovely, and I have some great neighbours and friends.”
Finally when asked about Arches turning 50 years old this year and what it means to her as an Arches customer, Jane simple replies:
“Arches deserves it, everyone works hard to do the best they can for the customer and I’m really proud to be one of those customers.”
