Domestic abuse is a criminal offence. If you or someone else is in danger, you should contact the police immediately.

You should also let the police know if you're worried about your safety or the safety of someone else.
What Is Domestic Abuse?
Domestic abuse is when someone uses power or control over another person in a family or intimate relationship. It can take many forms, including:

Call 999 and ask for the police (and then 55 if you are unable to speak) or ask someone you trust to do it for you.
Go to a safe place—avoid rooms like the kitchen, and stay near a door.
If in doubt, leave the property.
