We want all our residents to have the chance to have a say in the services we provide.

Arches and those at the heart of our organisation - our Tenants

~

History

Arches Housing have a long standing relationship with the community and over the years have engaged tenants in various groups in order to better the processes and style that only tenants can bring to a housing association. However, during 2021/2022, Arches reviewed its approach to tenant involvement and co-regulation. As a result, it was identified that the role of residents within the governance of Arches needed to be strengthened.

Tpas were appointed in mid-2022 to support Arches Housing to develop this new approach, and we worked with a group of tenants, colleagues, and a board member to develop the Neighbourhood Network. Tenant Voice

Roll on to 2026 and we have a new Tenant Voice Strategy ready and raring to go!

Listening to tenants is not only important to us – it is  a
key requirement for all housing providers.

As a social landlord, we must:

  • Be transparent and accountable
  • Offer meaningful opportunities for tenants
    to influence decisions
  • Ask for feedback and publish how we are
    performing
  • Involve tenants in matters relating to the
    safety of their homes

Therefore our new *Tenant Approved* Tenant Voice Strategy explains how we will meet these responsibilities in a clear and meaningful way. For more information please review this here:

Why is involvement important?

We want to produce services that respond to the communities they are meant to serve. The only way we can really know is by asking the people who receive these services – our residents. We respect the fact that our residents are the experts in receiving our service, so they should be the ones to influence them.

If you have an idea or suggestion that you want to lead please get in touch with Kirsty and she will support you.

When you get involved with Arches, you're communicating your needs and shaping services around you at the very top level, so you're making real, tangible change.

What does getting involved entail?

We hold lots of involvement opportunities throughout the year, from large scale scrutiny projects to phone surveys and interviews - which means you can offer as much or as little time as you like.

We hold all of our tenants who'd like to get involved in a 'pool' and invite you to join individual involvement opportunities. This way, you can just get involved in the things that interest you and affect you and your household.

We work hard to make sure our involvement opportunities are accessible to all. If you want to get involved but need some more support to do, we're committed to delivering that - from coaching to tech support.

Want to get involved?

Email consultation@archeshousing.org.uk if you would like to be contacted when involvement opportunities come up.

As an Arches tenant, you can be involved in influencing the decisions that affect you, your home and your community.
