Careers Careers

We have an open, transparent and fair recruitment process.

All roles have a clear job description which outlines the skills and knowledge that are essential for the role, and those which are desirable.

Our applications ask you to prepare a personal statement which demonstrates your suitability based on the requirements of the role.  We strongly recommend that you read the Job Description Person Specification document which will be available within the advert before you complete your application.

A good way for you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge is to use the STARR approach.

  • Situation – Describe the situation, and when it took place
  • Task – Explain the task, and what was the objective.
  • Action – Give details about the action you took to achieve this
  • Result – What was the result of your action?
  • Reflection – What did you learn, and what would you do differently next time?

For example, if we ask for IT skills for an administrative role, an example of how you have produced a mail-merged letter, or have used specific software and systems to maintain records in your STARR would be an good way to assure us that you have the necessary skills appropriate to the role.

Candidates who are able to demonstrate that they have the essential skills and knowledge will be shortlisted for interview.

If you do not hear from us within 3 weeks of the closing date then unfortunately your applications didn’t tell us what we needed to know to be able to shortlist you for interview.
