It has been realised that one thing we need to improve upon, is shouting about our achievements and sharing that information with you, our tenants.

Therefore, read on below for a snapshot of what Arches have been doing and the outcomes we have achieved.

🎖Delivering Quality Homes🏠

This year we're investing £1.6 million in our homes, increasing our planned works programme by more than 23% from last year.

That means:

🏠 62 new kitchens
🛁 36 new bathrooms
🔥 87 new boilers
🚪 30 new doors
🏡 36 new roofs*
🪟 26 homes with new windows

We're committed to Delivering Quality Homes and making sure our residents have homes they can be proud of.

🗣Tenant Voice Strategy

We had nearly 1,500 conversations about services we delivered last year and we use this information to make changes. For example, we have worked hard to improve how we tackle anti-social behaviour improving our communication, support and delivering extra training to officers.  We are building on this – watch out for opportunities to meet our Board of Management, who make the decisions about how Arches is run, and invites out to meet staff and teams and talk to us directly about your experiences living in our properties.

💡If you want to work with us to improve our services or give us your ideas about we can improve, please contact us on 0114 228 8100 or email consultation@archeshousing.org.uk.

📹 Cleaner communities, thanks to your feedback!

After tenants raised concerns about fly-tipping on communal land, we've installed CCTV cameras in several hotspot locations.

Since the cameras were introduced, staff have recorded a significant decrease in fly-tipping in the monitored areas. The presence of CCTV has acted as a strong deterrent, helping to discourage illegal dumping and encouraging tenants and visitors to dispose of waste responsibly.
We will continue to monitor the affected locations and work closely with tenants to tackle environmental issues. Tenants are encouraged to report any incidents of fly-tipping or anti-social behaviour so that swift action can be taken.

Thank you to everyone who reported concerns and helped us protect our neighbourhoods. Together, we're creating cleaner, safer places to live. 🌿🏡

🏠Repairs in your home - How are we doing.

So far this year we have received over 1,142 repairs.

Between April and June this year, we completed nearly 98% of emergency repairs on time (within 24 hours) and 75.4% of routine repairs on time – we are working hard to improve this figure by increasing contractor capacity.

🔧We are also working hard to fix repairs in one visit as you tell us you don’t want to be waiting in for contractors anymore than necessary. We are doing this by working with our contractors to ensure we use standard parts which means spares are easier to access.🔧

Neighbourhood Days 2025/26

🏡Throughout 2025/26, our Neighbourhood Days brought tenants and Arches staff together to improve local communities across Wensley, Darnall, Ashtree Court, Dinnington, Abbeyfield Flats and Bressingham Street. Activities included providing skips for waste disposal, litter picking, de-weeding, planting flowers, bulbs and shrubs, and enhancing communal green spaces. 🔧

These initiatives helped create cleaner, safer and more attractive neighbourhoods while giving tenants opportunities to share feedback and discuss local issues. Positive resident engagement and feedback highlighted the success of these events and the lasting improvements made across our communities. 🌿
